The Beautiful actress Dascha Polanco is our Woman Crush for this week because she’s awesome. Dascha Polanco at an early age longed to be an actress but was discourage by society’s view on weight. She ended up going to pursue her bachelors degree at Hunter College in psychology. As the story goes working as a hospital administrator while studying to become a nurse her then fiancé gifted her with acting classes at the BIH studios in New York. It was there that she signed with the Shirley Grant Management talent agency. From there she landed her first full time acting job in the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black as Dayanara “Daya” Diaz, an inmate in the Litchfield Penitentiary for women. Dascha has move from a recurring role to a main role in season 3 of OITNB. She is also set to receive from The National Association of Latino Independent Producers, later this month at the 16th annual Latino Media Awards ceremony, the honor of the prestigious Lupe Award.
