WCW – Somaya Reece

So the lovely and talented Somaya Reece is this week’s WCW, a woman we can all look up to. Ginie Somaya Reece was born in Los Angeles, California and is quoted as spending most of youth singing in church then rapping in the streets and dancing in after-school programs. “My dream was to become a great actress and musician,” ~ Somaya Reece
Longing to be an actress she study theater in classes at UCLA. Somaya even made her big-screen debut in 2000, playing a bar girl in the disturbing thriller American Psycho.
However, it was her start in modeling that would launch her career, She started to appear in print and television campaigns for brands such as Budweiser, Pepsi, Coors Light, Skechers, Ralph Lauren and Gap, among others. Also, at that time Somaya started her own MySpace page which then was the most popular social internet site on the web which catapulted her own popularity. She used the same launching pad MySpace to launched her music career.
But on her way to fame Somaya had always been faced with her struggle with weight. On the popular hit show Love & Hip-Hop she ballooned up to a size 18 and was berated and teased through out social media. She decided to turn around her eating habits and for two years she has fought at getting her weight under her own control. Somaya these days is in control and looking better than she’s ever looked.
