No batteries but you can pick up a couple of cheap ones at last for about an hour a piece. F & V ring light is best for expressing friends in a darken club and or impressing clients for MUA (Makeup Artist) to show off their work. I also use it as a bts (behind the scenes) video light. All in all this light will make your cell phone photo sing but you will have to weight the cons of it being a bit much to bring out with you to the club or event and the price tag being a little $200 pricey for your average Joe but if you are Make Up Artist or a photographer or video guy like myself, looking for a light this is a no brainer.
