Name: Jennifer Jiminez a.k.a. Siren85
Measurements: 36–24–36
Zodiac: Sagittarius
Occupation: Beautician and make up artist… stylist, costume designer/artist
Hometown: Currently, I live in Harrisburg, PA… but I’m originally from Brooklyn, NY
Why did you get into the industry?
To promote my make up, most of all. That’s what put me on the map. People would ask me “who did your make up for the photo shoot” and I would say “I did it,” then it definitely took off.
What was your first gig or experience in the industry?
My first experience in the industry had to be in 2013, where I did a video shoot in Atlanta. And it was for a model’s shoot. The promotion was just about bring me out to the modeling industry. So that was my first gig.
Where do you see yourself in the next few years?
Highly successful… owning my own make up company and mentoring, possibly having a make up school or educational program for make up.
What do you like about the industry?
The creative side I prefer being behind the scenes instead of being in front of the camera. I like the detail work more.
What don’t you like about the industry?
That some people are sexist and only see you one way… that you can’t doing anything else but be in front of the camera and that’s all you’re there for. When you are in the industry, you are judged constantly… whether be from pictures, or outtings, or whatever it is that you do, you’re judged
What advice would you give an up and coming model that you wish someone gave my you?
Stay strong and don’t go left! You don’t have to do things that you don’t want to do, to make it to where you need to go. Do what you feel is in your heart… just stay real with yourself.
What advice would you ask a more experienced model?
What were the steps? How did you get here? Who managed you? Which way was the best route to go, because there are all types of ways you can go depending on the type of model you want to be.
Who is your fave model right now?
I really, really, really like Jai Nice I wouldn’t necessarily say she’s a model but she’s all over Instagram, she has Kloset Envy I really like her style. She’s a business owner, educated, and going places.
How do you feel you’re empowering yourself and others?
I have tattoos on my arm that represent who I am. I have candy, I have make up, I have brushes, I have scissors… all those things are a part of me. I’m not just eye-candy, I’m more than that… and that’s what I bring to the industry. I’m more than a picture!
What would you say to the people that feel this industry objectifies women?
Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.
Are you a fan of the Star Wars series?
I think Star Wars is great and I was super excited to be Princess Leia for this shoot. I can’t wait till the The Force Awakens drops on December 18th!!
Would you like to say anything special to your followers?
Stay strong and keep pushing no matter what, because I came from nothing and I’m still working to get where I need to be. Stay focused and don’t give up. It doesn’t matter what background you came from, you can make it anywhere you want to!
